Oregon Secretary of State Kate Brown released her end of session report last week. She talks about what was accomplished during the session:
We worked hard, met many of our goals and made progress on other initiatives. In addition to passing important legislation, during session we released several significant audits aimed at guiding the work of both legislators and state agencies.
She goes on to discuss progress on three major goals: helping small businesses get up and running, encouraging the growth of socially conscious businesses, and increasing voter participation among eligible citizens.
And she lays out a future goal:
With the overwhelming support of the legislature, we will audit TriMet, the state’s largest public transit agency that serves the Portland-metro area. We are getting to work on this project right away, so that our recommendations will be complete when the legislature returns in February 2014.
