Clackamas County is now accepting applications from residents for its fourth #ClackCo Academy, formerly called Citizen Academy. The academy is a six-month long series of classes designed to educate residents about county government and services.
Each month the class will feature experts from multiple departments discussing how they work together to address issues that impact the county. More information about the academy can be found at www.clackamas.us/pga/academy.html.
Sessions are held on the third Wednesday of each month from April through September. The first session is Wednesday, April 18, from 6 pm. to 8:30 pm.
There are 25 openings available, with an additional five seats reserved for youth members, ages 16-20. Applicants from a range of geographic areas are sought, and an interest in county programs and services is desired.
Topics will address the county’s five Performance Clackamas goals:
- Build public trust through good government
- Grow a vibrant economy
- Build a strong infrastructure
- Ensure safe, healthy and secure communities
- Honor, utilize, promote and invest in our natural resources
The application deadline is Thursday, Feb. 15. Applications can be submitted online.
