Pot o’ Gold Dinner a Big Success!

Clackamas Democrats had a record turnout and achieved a record net profit at its annual Pot o’ Gold fund-raising dinner in March at the Monarch Hotel in Clackamas.

Nearly $7,000 was gained through the auction of “white donkey” gift times i.e., unidentified but handsomely wrapped gifts.

In other words, the buyer didn’t know what they were buying. The fun occurred when they opened the package and learned what it actually contained, sharing that information with the other 110 guests.

Highlight gift of the evening was a Donald Trump bobble head doll, won by Joe Mazarra, of Welches. John De Haas, of Milwaukie, was the recipient of a “Trump Survival Kit” which included aspirin for headaches, organically grown coffee to stay awake during these tortuous years, other pain killers, and gag items related to enduring Trump’s presidency.

A huge “thank you” to all who participated, added to the fun, and contributed to the cause! The funds will be put to excellent use throughout the coming year to cover our operating expenses and support Democratic candidates and causes.

Did you miss it? It’s not too late to get in on the spirit of helping local Democrats win local races and encourage Democratic values by contributing today. Up to $100 per year (per couple filing jointly) can be used as an Oregon income tax credit.
